Common Mistakes to Avoid ⚠️
🚫 Waiting too long to ask for help. Rule of thumb: if you’ve been stuck for 30–45 minutes, ask.
🚫 Saying “yes” to everything. It’s okay to say “I can do X or Y this week — which is higher priority?”
🚫 Disappearing when things go wrong. Silence looks worse than the mistake.
🚫 Copy-pasting AI output without understanding it. You’ll get caught in review, in questions, or in the demo. Use AI to learn, not to bypass learning.
🚫 Over-explaining in updates. Nobody wants a novel. Lead with the outcome.
🚫 Not writing things down. You will forget the Wi-Fi password, your manager’s coffee order, and the acronym they mentioned in the all-hands. Write it down.
🚫 Treating admin/onboarding tasks as optional. Finishing compliance training on time is a signal about how you’ll treat real work.
🚫 Only talking to people on your immediate team. The internship ends. The network doesn’t.
🚫 Only asking for feedback in the final review. By then it’s too late to act on it.
🚫 Skipping the “boring” documentation part. The doc is the deliverable. No doc = no evidence you did it.
